Respondents PRAYER: Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to secure and produce the body of the detenu / petitioner's daughter viz., G.Parkavi, aged about 23 years, D/o.Govindasamy, before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.] The petitioner is the father of the detenu. The detenu is aged about 23 years. In the affidavit, it has been stated that on 07.08.2017, the petitioner's daughter viz., detenu had gone to her https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

coaching centre viz., Mamallan I.A.S. Academy through bus. But, she did not come back. Thereafter, the petitioner tried to contact her over phone. But, her phone was switched off. After searching in several places, he finally lodged a complaint. As there was no response to the same, he has come up with this petition.

2.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the detenu was produced before this Court. On enquiry, the detenu told that she is a major and she has not been abducted by anybody. She has further told that she, along with 4th respondent, went to Chennai and they got married on 10.08.2017. The detenu also expressed her willingness to go along with her husband viz., 4th respondent. The said statement is recorded.

3.In view of the above, nothing survives for adjudication in this petition. Hence, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with liberty to the detenu to choose her own way of life. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(Co) /True Copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar To
