Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal scheduled to be held on 27.06.2018 at night 09.00 to 01.00 hours in connection with the "Kodai Vizha" in Arulmigu Sri Selliyaramman Kovil at Palvannanathapuram Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2018.

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal scheduled to be held on 27.06.2018 at night 09.00 to 01.00 hours in connection with the "Kodai Vizha" in Arulmigu Sri Selliyaramman Kovil at Palvannanathapuram Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

respondents to grant permission for conducting cultural event in the village of the petitioner in connection with the "Kodai Vizha" in Arulmigu Sri Selliyaramman Kovil at Palvannanathapuram Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Tirunelveli District on 08.06.2018. Since the said representation has not been considered by the respondents, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

4. The application seeking permission to conduct any cultural program with regard to temple festival shall be submitted only by the trustees of the Temple or the committee of the Vizha Kuzhuvinar or the organizers of the festival committee before the concerned respondent police. In the case on hand, the petitioner is the Panchayat President of the said village. Therefore, the petition is liable to be dismissed as not maintainable in the light of the earlier order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.7911 of 2018 dated 12.04.2018. 5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed.
