ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to call for the records relating to C.C.No.220 of 2018, pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Sivakasi and to quash the said proceedings as against the petitioners.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent would submit that the trial has already been commenced and seven witnesses were already examined and the case stands posted for examination of remaining prosecution witnesses.

3. At this juncture, the learned Counsel for the petitioners would submit that it would be suffice, if a direction is given to the trial Court to complete the trial expeditiously within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side and also taking note the fact that the trial is in progress and also the limited prayer now sought for by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any view with regard to the merits of the case, the trial Court is directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.220 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
