ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to move the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram.

2.Liberty is granted. This writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. The Registry is directed to return the original order to the learned counsel for the petitioner after the same is substituted with xerox copy. Since the learned counsel for the petitioner has withdrawn this writ petition only pursuant to the direction given by this Court, some interim protection deserves to be granted. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner was enjoying patta for 53 years. It is further undertaken that appeal will be filed before the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If such an appeal is filed, it shall be entertained without reference to limitation. The petitioner is also 2/4

permitted to apply for interim relief before the District Revenue Officer, Ramanathapuram. The said application will be disposed of on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks thereafter. The impugned order shall be put on hold and not implemented for a period of eight weeks from today. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
