Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to effect free electricity connection to the petitioner's cultivating land sprawling to an extent of 1.76 Acres comprised in Survey No.840/108 at Kottaiyur Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, based on the petitioner's application made in 04/2015-2016 dated 19.05.2015.

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent for free electricity connection to the petitioner's cultivating land sprawling to an extent of 1.76 Acres comprised in Survey No.840/108 at Kottaiyur Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, based on the petitioner's application made in 04/2015-2016 dated 19.05.2015.

2.Heard Mr.A.Balaji, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Deenadayalan, learned Standing Counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

3.On instructions, the learned standing counsel submits that only in accordance with the seniority if the application, the free electricity service connection will be granted by the respondents. According to the present seniority status, applicants who have submitted applications up to the year 2013, were only granted free electricity service connection. Since the application has been submitted by the petitioner only in the year 2015, as per the seniority, the free electricity service connection will be given to the petitioner.
