O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Nos.1 to 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.05.2021 and to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and her husband namely Muthukumar and her husnand's family members for their life and liberty within the time frame fixed by this Court. 2.The petitioner was in love with the one Muthukumar for nearly two years. The said fact was well known to the petitioner's mother and her brother and they were prevented the petitioner from marrying the said Muthurkumar because they are belonging to different caste. The parents of the petitioner forced her to marry 1/3

another boy against her wish. Subsequently, on 29.04.2021, the petitioner had escaped from her house and married the said Muthukuar in the presence of friends. In these circumstances, the fourth respondent lodged a complaint before the third respondent stating that the said Muthukumar had abducted the petitioner against her will. Based on the complaint, the respondent police came to the petitioner's husband's house and enquired them and continuously harassed them. Because of the inter-caste marriage, the relatives of the petitioner seriously searching the couple with an intention to separate them. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 seeking police protection. Since no action has been taken, the petitioner approached this Court with this petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side)would submit that the representation given by the petitioner was received by the respondent police and the investigation is pending. 4.Considering the nature of the case and considering the fact that it is a case of inter-caste marriage, the respondent police is directed to enquire the matter and give police protection to the petitioner and her husband namely Muthukumar and her husband's family members. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
