Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to take necessary action to convene the peace committee meeting so as to avoid any law and order problem in the petitioner Village by considering the petitioner's representation dated 04.04.2022 and take necessary action in accordance with law.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a limited relief.

2. Due to law and order problem, the petitioner apprehends that the smooth conduct of the church, namely, Punitha Sebasthiyar Alayam situated at Sivapuram Village, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, will be disturbed. The petitioner being one of the villagers and is a worshipper, has given a representation on 04.04.2022 to the 1/3

respondents 1 to 3 seeking for conduct of a peace committee meeting. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

3. Heard Mr.B.Jameel Arasu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.S.Jeyapriya, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3.

No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation seeking for convening of a peace committee meeting for the smooth conduct of the church, namely, Punitha Sebasthiyar Alayam situated at Sivapuram Village, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, is considered on merits and in accordance with law after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner and any other necessary party, whom the first and third respondents deem fit to enquire.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first and third respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.04.2022 seeking for convening of a peace committee meeting for the smooth conduct and functioning of the church, namely, Punitha Sebasthiyar Alayam situated at Sivapuram Village, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner and any other necessary party, whom the first and third respondents deem fit to enquire, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
