: Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the persons or bodies of detenues, namely, Sree Devi, wife of Soniraj, aged 32 years, children, namely, Keerthiga Devi, aged 15 years, daughter of Soniraj, Vennila, aged 10 years, daughter of Soniraj and Hariharasudhan, aged 8 years, S/o.Soniraj and the petitioner's relative - Latha, 50 years, wife of Balasekaran, before this Court and set them at liberty. *********** [Order of the Court was made by C.T.SELVAM, J.] The petitioner sought production of his wife - Sree Devi aged 32 years, two minor daughters, namely, Keerthiga Devi and Vennila, aged 15 and 10 years respectively, son - Hariharasudhan, aged 8 years, and the petitioner's relative - Latha, aged 50 years.
2. The petitioner alleged that the third respondent had taken his wife along with them to the Police Station for enquiry. Thereafter, she along with the minor detenues had been detained https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
for about 15 days. The third respondent subsequently had informed no knowledge of the whereabouts of the detenues. Stating so, petitioner sought production of the detenues.
3. Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, submits that the wife of the petitioner has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody in connection with a criminal case in Crime No.103 of 2018, on the file of the Inspector of Police, Amathur Police Station, on 06.06.2018. The third respondent has also produced the fifth detenu, namely, Latha, the mother of the first detenu, along with three minor children. On enquiry, Latha informs of having gone over to Mettamalai, Virudhunagar District and that the minor children are presently under her care and custody and they are not being subjected to any harassment whatsoever.
4. In the light of the above, this Habeas Corpus Petition shall stand closed.
