ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to direct the respondent to transfer the property tax in the petitioner's name for the Assessment Number 146/024/00183 for the petitioner's house in Door No.17A, Sivan South Car Street, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli based on the petitioner's representation, dated 03.07.2020.

2.Heard Mr.T.Selvan, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Aayiram K.Selvakumar, learned Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3.On the last hearing date, ie., on 30.07.2020, this Court had directed the petitioner to submit online application for transfer of property tax in his name for the aforementioned property. The learned Counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, would submit that as per the direction issued by this Court, dated 30.07.2020, the petitioner has submitted the online application for transfer of property tax in his name for the Assessment No.146/024/00183. 4.The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is an innocuous relief. No prejudice will be caused to the respondent, if the relief sought for in this Writ Petition is granted by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.8344 of 2020 The only reason for not entertaining the application of the petitioner earlier by the respondent was that the petitioner had not submitted the application through online, but had submitted the application through offline.

5.For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's online application seeking for transfer of property tax in the petitioner's name for the Assessment Number 146/024/00183 for the petitioner's house in Door No.17A, Sivan South Car Street, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there is no order as to costs.
