Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of passport.

3. It is seen that a criminal case was registered against him way back in the year 2010. The learned Additional Government Pleader would state that final report was filed on 14.09.2014, but till date cognizance has not been taken.

4. Since the jurisdictional criminal Court has not taken cognizance of the matter, there cannot be a bar for issuance of passport. The first respondent is directed to renew the petitioner's passport and issue the same subject to fulfillment of the other usual formalities.
