O R D E R
The petitioner seeks a direction to the 1st to 3rd respondents to restrain the 6th to 8th respondent from conducting the Panguni Uthiram Festival from 03.04.2023 to 05.04.2023 at a particular temple at Kumulur, Lalkudi Taluk, Trichy District.
2. At the hearing today, learned counsel for the petitioner has placed before me the decision recorded pursuant to a peace committee meeting in the office of the Revenue Divisional Officer. The two rival groups have signed the said document. In terms thereof, the festival has been permitted subject to the conditions specified as serial Nos.1 to 4 of the said proceedings.
3. In view of this development, nothing survives for adjudication in this writ petition. Learned counsel for the petitioner asserts that the petitioner and members of his group were coerced and unduly influenced into signing the proceedings of the peace committee meeting. If so, it is always open to the petitioner to assail the decision taken at the peace committee meeting.
4. Subject to the above observations, W.P.(MD).No.7529 of 2023 is disposed of without any order as to costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P(MD).Nos.7024 and 7026 of 2023 are closed. 05.04.2023 NCC :Yes/No Internet :Yes/No Index :Yes/No sbn To 1.The District Collector, Trichy District, Trichy.
