ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J] https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ The petitioner is the father of the detenu, viz., M.Pitchaiammal @ Prema, aged 27 years. He has come forward with
this petition contending that on 16.09.2013, the marriage between her daughter and the 4th respondent was solemnised in Virudhunagar. It is alleged after the marriage, the petitioner's daughter was harassed by her in-laws and the petitioner could not contact his daughter and when the petitioner visited his daughter's house, he was prevented from entering into the house. Apprehending that his daughter's life is in danger, the petitioner preferred a complaint to the respondent police. Since no effective steps were taken, the petitioner is before this Court with this petition.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the detenu and her husband was residing at Kotturpuram, Chennai and the detenu herself has addressed a letter to the respondent police stating that she is not in the illegal custody of any one. It is further alleged that only the petitioner is creating problems in their family.
3. In view of the statement made by the detenu, we are of the view that nothing survives for adjudication in this petition, except to close the Habeas Corpus Petition. Accordingly, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
