O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to carry out survey, measurement and demarcation of boundaries of the properties comprised in Survey Nos. 201/3 and 201/6 measuring to an extent of 39.50 and 27.00 hectares respectively situated at Alangulam Village, Sivagangai District, with adequate police protection from the 3rd respondent based on the petitioner's online application dated 16.02.2026 and representation dated 01.02.2026.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner claims right over the property based on a registered sale deed dated 05.12.1972. It was further stated that the petitioner's husband had purchased the property and 2/6

was in possession and enjoyment of the same. After his demise, the petitioner continued to remain in possession and enjoyment of the property, and the patta still stands in the name of her husband. The petitioner now seeks demarcation of the property, as the adjacent landowner (4th respondent), with an intention to encroach upon the property, has interfered with her peaceful possession.

3. Heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the 1st respondent to conduct the survey with the assistance of the 2nd respondent after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the 4th respondent. If necessary, seek police protection, the 3rd respondent shall provide police protection to survey the land. The Court is also directing the Official respondents to adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures:

a. The Official respondents shall issue notice to the petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature 3/6

by receiving the notice of survey.

b. After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction.

c. If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest. The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by the parties The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
