ORDER

The petitioner assails the proceedings dated 09.03.2026 issued by the respondent, whereby the petitioner's application for shifting the agricultural electricity service connection from Survey No. 642/4 to Survey No. 584/2, situated in Semmadaipatti-Palakanoothu Village, Dindigul District, came to be rejected.

2. The petitioner had originally availed an agricultural electricity service connection in Survey No. 642/4. Subsequently, a portion of the said land was sold to the petitioner's paternal aunt, and the service connection happens to be located in the portion so conveyed. In view of the same, the petitioner submitted an application seeking transfer of the 2/5

service connection to Survey No. 584/2. However, by the impugned proceedings, the said application was rejected.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side.

4. The petitioner has produced a No Objection Certificate issued by the purchaser, wherein consent has been given for shifting the service connection to Survey No. 584/2.

5. The learned counsel for the respondent submitted that the petitioner's application would be reconsidered, subject to the petitioner furnishing a No Objection Certificate from the purchaser.

In light of the above, the impugned proceedings dated 09.03.2026 are set aside, and this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to reconsider the petitioner's application and effect shifting of the service connection to Survey No. 584/2, subject to the petitioner furnishing a No Objection Certificate from the purchaser, executing an indemnity bond, and satisfying all other requirements. 3/5

7. The above exercise shall be completed within a period of four

(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that the petitioner shall bear the expenses required for shifting the service connection.

8. There shall be no order as to costs.
