ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to grant loan to the petitioner within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.K.Sureshkumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Pala.Ramasamy, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent.

3.According to the petitioner, he was working as Senior Ferro Printer at Engineering Department of Southern Railways, Madurai from 1972 to 2007 and retired on 31.08.2007. After retirement, he is getting pension as per the Pension Payment Order (P.P.O) No.0608213393 through the respondent bank in his Savings Bank Account No.10828724463. Since the respondent deducted a sum of Rs.2,500/- per month from his pension amount from May 2014, the petitioner is struggling to maintain his family and therefore, the petitioner has approached the respondent bank to avail pension loan by way of his representation dated 27.08.2014. Since no order has been passed, the present writ petition has been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the fact that the petitioner is a retired employee and is eking out his livelihood from the meagre pension received from his employer, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.08.2014 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
