ORDER

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction against the first and second respondents, District Collector and Revenue Divisional Officer at Pudukkottai, Aranthangi in Pudukottai District, to examine the representation dated 13.03.2023, given by the petitioner herein. The petitioner is interested in conducting Kumbabishekam festival at Paludai Ayyanar Kovil at Palkudi Village. There is also another temple namely Sri Uthirakaliamman temple.

2. It had been stated that the villagers have made arrangements for conducting Kumbabishekam for Paludai Ayyanar Kovil. Unfortunately, the petitioner apprehended that the fifth, sixth and seventh respondents might interfere with such function. Therefore, raising an apprehension, they had given a representation to the first and second respondents and had also filed the present writ petition.

I must appreciate that the Tahsildar, Manamelkudi Taluk, at Pudukottai District had conducted a peace committee meeting on 16.03.2023 and the learned additional Government Pleader Mr.Ashok was able to forward a copy of the decision taken in the peace committee meeting. The respondents have specifically agreed that Kumbabishekam can be conducted. Additionally, the fifth and sixth respondents have also filed a common affidavit before this Court stating that they have no objection for the Kumbabishekam being conducted in the said temple. The stand of the respondent is deeply appreciated and I hope that they would keep up with the undertaking given both before the Tahsildar and this Court. This Court can only wish the function the best and I also hope the petitioner would also sent forth the offerings given to the god also to the fifth and sixth respondent and anybody else also. No further orders are required.

4. This writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
