No. 589/18, which has been erroneously assessed in the name of the 7th respondent by combining with T.S.No.589/1A3A of Ward J, Block 23, Tirunelveli Town, Tirunelveli District.

The petitioner has sought for issuance of writ of mandamus to rectify the errors that had crept in the assessment of the petitioner's property in T.S.No. 589/18 which is erroneously, according to the petitioner, assessed in the name of the 7th respondent.

2. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelvei is suo motu impleaded.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 5 and 8.

4. The learned Government Advocate would submit that the application of the petitioner is now pending with the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelveli and the Revenue Divisional Officer has also commenced necessary enquiry proceedings.

Considering the above, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelveli to conduct an enquiry, after affording an opportunity to the petitioner as well as the 7th respondent and pass final orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Till such time the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tirunelveli takes a final decision, the town survey shall be kept in abeyance. 3/5

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
