Respondents Prayer: Writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is filed praying for issuance of a writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the detenu by name Vellapandi, S/o.Vanamamalai aged about 35 years now lodged and confined at Palayamkottai Central prison before this Honourable Court and set the detenu at liberty by extending the benefits under Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act 2000 and set aside the conviction and sentence against the detenu by Honourable Additional Sessions Court-cum-Fast Track Court No.II, Tirunelveli in Special sessions Case No.782/2000 dated 31.05.2005 .
