ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUDHAKAR,J.) The prayer in the writ petition is to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to ensure standard water pipes are laid for the combined water supply scheme for the 212 Rural Habitations in Andhanallur Manikdandam and Manapparai Taluk Trichy District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 19.08.2015.

2.The main grievance of the petitioner is that the pipes used for transportation of water are substandard quality which will be deteriorated in course of time and it would amount to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

entire project will be a waste one.

3.To alleviate the said grievance, we called upon Mr.R.Maran, Executive Engineer and Mr.Ramamoorthy, Assistant Executive Engineer to appear before this Court along with relevant records. They have appeared and produced an agreement entered into between the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and M/s.R.P.P Infra Project limited, Erode dated 14.05.2014 for providing combined water supply scheme to 212 Rural Habitations in Andhanallur, Manikandam and Manapparai Union with the source of Cauvery river wherein the materials to be used for the said scheme have been mentioned which reads as follows:- "Supply and delivery of following sizes of Ductile Iron socket/spigot pipes class K7 as per IS 8329/2000 and as amended from time to time with ISI marking including cost, taxes, loading, unloading freight etc., for delivery and stacking at site of work and as directed by the TWAD Board Officers".

4.It is further stated that 95% of the work has been completed and on completion of work, Dr.Amin Controllers Pvt., Ltd., inspected the materials used for the said scheme and has given its report.

5.The statement as above is recorded. We do not express any opinion on the statement made by the official respondents. However, the authority shall ensure the nature of goods utilized for the said project as to the quality, strength and durability etc.
