This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to initiate necessary action for rectifying the mistake in the revenue records pertaining to the property comprised in T.S.424 Block 11 Ward 16 Karaikudi Town, Sivagangai District on conducting a survey / measurement in pursuance of the communication dated 10.02.2023 in proceedings Na.Ka.No.B5/3851/2023 on the file of the first respondent.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the first respondent would conduct and conclude the inquiry after putting the petitioner, respondents 4 to 8 and all other necessary parties on notice and would pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/District Revenue Officer to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity to the petitioner, respondents 4 to 8 and all the necessary parties and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.

This Writ Petition is listed today under the caption 'for being mentioned' at the instance of the learned counsel for the petitioner.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking rectification of errors in the revenue records relating to the property identified as T.S.No.427, Block 11, Ward 16, Karaikudi Town, Sivagangai District. By order dated 19.01.2026, this Court disposed of the writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to conduct an inquiry and decide the matter on merits, in accordance with the law. However, in the prayer portion of the order, the survey number has been erroneously stated as 'T.S.No.424' instead of 'T.S.No.427'. To correct this mistake, the petitioner already filed W.M.P.(MD)No.9173 of 2024, which was disposed of by order dated 19.01.2026. However, the survey number was still incorrectly mentioned as 'T.S.No.424' in that order. The learned counsel now seeks the necessary correction in the order dated 19.01.2026. 5/7

Upon consideration of the submission, the Registry is directed to rectify the survey number in the order dated 19.01.2026 in W.P.(MD)No. 8889 of 2024 by replacing the erroneous mention of 'T.S.No.424' with the correct 'T.S.No.427'. In all other respects, the order dated 19.01.2026 shall remain unchanged.
4. The Registry is further directed to make the necessary corrections in the order and issue a fresh copy of the corrected order to the learned counsel for the parties without delay. (K.SURENDER, J.) 17.02.2026 smn2 6/7
