Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to disburse the gratuity amount of Rs.3,41,550/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Forty One Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty only) with interest payable to the petitioner on the death of her husband Thirupathi.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that the gratuity amount due to the writ petitioner has already been settled by the competent authority. In this regard, the District Collector, Thanjavur, has written a letter to the learned Additional Government Pleader on 29.06.2019.

objections, the writ petitioner is at liberty to approach the competent authority for redressing the grievances. In respect of the balance amount, the same has been settled in favour of the writ petitioner.
