ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner joined the respondent department as Gang Mazdoor. The next promotional post is that of Assistant Draughtsman. The petitioner however has to have the qualification of Diploma in Civil Engineering. The petitioner therefore joined the evening course and obtained the said diploma. All that the petitioner wants is that the educational qualification obtained by the petitioner should be entered in his service record. No exception can be taken to the said request. Unless the qualification is entered in the service record, he will not be considered for promotion.

3. I therefore direct the respondents to enter the petition mentioned educational qualification of the petitioner in his service record within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
