[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] The prayer in this writ petition reads as follows: "For the reasons stated in the accompanying affidavit, It is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue a Writ or Order or Direction or in the nature of WRIT OF MANDAMUS forbearing the respondents from permitting the conduct Manjuvirattu in the petitioner's village except for their temple festival in Sri Alagu Nachiyamman Kovil, Nellukundupatty, Karungalkudi Post, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2023."

2. Mr.P.Thilakkumar, learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, would submit that he has got instruction to state that no request for conducting such festival has been received by the District Collector, Madurai.

3. In view of the above statement, the writ petition is dismissed as unnecessary. No costs.
