O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to produce the Petitioner's daughter-in-law namely, Meenal, wife of Venkatesan, aged about 23 years and her grand-son namely Deepan, son of Venkatesan, aged about 4 years before this Court and set them at liberty. 2.It is the case of the Petitioner that she is working as an Agricultural Coolie and she is blessed with two sons. Her elder son Venkatesan was married to the first detenu namely, Meenal in the year 2014 and they are blessed with a son, the second detenu Deepan in the year 2016. The Petitioner would claim that her son Venkatesan was working in abroad. While-so, on 3.5.2021, the first detenue is found missing with the second detenu.
Hence she lodged a complaint with the third respondent on the same day, but no effective steps have been taken to secure the detenus. 3.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the first detenue namely, Meenal had appeared before this Court through videoconferencing and submitted that she was married to one Raja @ Muthuraja and the first son of the Petitioner is her brother-in-law. She would further submit she suffered cruelty in the hands of the Petitioner and now she is living with her parents and she is ready to go with her husband Raja @ Muthuraja.
4.In the light of the above statement made by the first detenue, we find no merit in the Habeas Corpus Petition and accordingly, the same stands dismissed.
