Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, calling for the entire records connected with the detention order of the Respondent No.2 in Detention Order No.15/2017 dated 05.03.2017 and Quash the same and direct the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenu by name Murugan, S/o.Narayanan, aged about 49, now detained at Madurai Central Prison before this Honourable Court and set him at liberty forthwith.

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention, dated 05.03.2017 in Detention Order No.15/2017, detaining him as "Bootlegger", as contemplated under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of dangerous activities of Boot leggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slumgrabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 14/1982). https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.1766, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XII) Department, dated 17.04.2017, and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, the petition is dismissed.
