Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant funeral expenses and other benefits of the petitioner's mother, namely, Pushpam died on 05.12.2013, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 21.12.2013 and 03.02.2015.

ORDER

Mr.S.Chandrasekar, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. The petitioner seeks a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant funeral expenses and other benefits of the petitioner's mother, namely, Pushpam, who died on 05.12.2013, by considering his representations, dated 21.12.2013 and 03.02.2015.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner did not approach the competent authority and if he approaches the competent authority, viz., Block Development Officer concerned, his claim will be considered.

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to approach the Block Development Officer concerned and on such approach, the authority concerned will consider the same and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
