Order : This petition coming up for orders on this day, upon perusing the petition filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.MARAN.M., Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.M.MUTHUMANIKKAM, Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Crl Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- The petition has been filed to extend the time granted by this court in Crl.O.P(MD)No.4368 of 2021 dated 24.03.2021, to surrender and to execute the sureties.
2. Learned Counsel appearing the petitioner submitted that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the petitioner was not able to arrange the sureties and therefore, sought for extension of time.
3. It appears that the petitioner was apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Section 379 IPC. Even though this Court has granted anticipatory bail to the petitioner as early as on 24.03.2021, with certain conditions, the petitioner failed to surrender before the Court https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
CRL MP(MD) No.6079 of 2021 concerned for the past five months. Since the reasoning offered by the petitioner is not satisfactory, this Court is not inclined to extend the time limit and accordingly, this miscellaneous petition stands dismissed.
