RESPONDENT/COMPLAINANT Petition filed praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the petition filed therewith the High Court may be pleased to extend the time to comply the order passed by this Honble Court in Crl.O.P.(MD) No.4501 of 2021 dated 24.03.2021 and pass such other orders as deem fit and proper on facts and circumstances. Order : This petition coming up for orders on this day, upon perusing the petition filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.MARAN.M., Advocate for the petitioner and M/S.M.MUTHUMANIKKAM, COUNSEL FOR GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU (CRIMINAL SIDE) on behalf of the Respondents the court made the following order:- The petition has been filed to extend the time granted by this court in Crl.O.P(MD)No.4501 of 2021 dated 24.03.2021, to surrender and to execute the sureties.
2. Learned Counsel appearing the petitioner submitted that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the petitioner was not able to arrange the sureties and therefore, sought for extension of time.
3. It appears that the petitioner was apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Section 379 IPC. Even though this Court has granted anticipatory bail to the petitioner as early as on 24.03.2021, with certain conditions, the petitioner failed to surrender before the Court concerned for the past five months. Since the reasoning offered by the petitioner is not satisfactory, this Court is not https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
inclined to extend the time limit and accordingly, this miscellaneous petition stands dismissed.
