Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of habeas corpus to call for the records in pursuant to the impugned order of detention made in Cr.M.P.No.42/2020 dated 25.05.2020 on the file of the District Collector and District Magistrate, Tiruchirappalli District, the second respondent herein, branding the detenu by name, Veeramalai, age 33/2020, son of Ponna Kounder, as Boot-Legger, who is now confined in Central Prison, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruchirappalli District and quash the impugned order of detention and set him at liberty by producing him before this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J.] The petitioner has filed the habeas corpus petition seeking to quash the proceedings of the second respondent in Cr.M.P.No.42/2020 dated 25.05.2020, branding the detenu viz., her husband Veeramalai, Son of Ponna Kounder, aged about 33 years as a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

H.C.P.(MD) No.516 of 2020 'Boot-Legger' as contemplated under Section 2(b) of Tamil Nadu Act, 14 of 1982, detained him at the Central Prison, Trichy and to set him at liberty.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents would state that the detention order has been revoked by the Government and now, the detenu is on bail.

3. Recording the above statement, the habeas corpus petition is closed.
