ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection on the basis of petitioner representation dated 14.03.2026 for the conduct of the above scheduled events.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the organizer of the Poochorithal festival to be conducted in Pudutheru, Samayapuram on 22.03.2026 as the 20th consecutive year. Seeking police protection, the petitioner has given representation to the second respondent police on 14.03.2026. Since the same was not yet considered, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that the petitioner's representation will be considered and orders will be passed.

4. Considering the submissions made by either side, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation and 2/4

afford appropriate police protection to conduct the Poochorithal festival, on payment of necessary charges by the petitioner in terms of G.O.Ms.No.139 Home (Pol.VIII) Department, dated 04.03.2019.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
