O R D E R
The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent State Express Transport Corporation Limited, to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 11.03.2016 seeking to promote him as Branch Manager w.e.f., 01.06.1994 and as Divisional Manager w.e.f., 17.11.2014 in the respondent Corporation as per G.O.Ms.No.268, Transport (DO.I) Department dated 14.11.1997, coupled with arrears and all other attendant benefits admissible for that posts.
2. Heard Mr.J.Shabu Jose, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Sathiya Singh, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was working as Assistant Manager / Branch Manager (i/c) at Kanyakumari Depot and retired from service from the respondent Corporation on 31.03.2015. Thereafter, the petitioner had been giving representation after representation from the date of retirement onwards and last such representation https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
was made on 11.03.2016, seeking for the notional promotion and consequential service benefits, including monetary benefits.
4. In this regard, the petitioner would submit that, if the said representation, lastly given on 11.03.2016 is directed to be considered and an order to that effect is passed on merits, within a time frame fixed by this Court, the petitioner would be satisfied.
5. I have heard Mr.K.Sathiya Singh, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation, who would submit that, the said representation of the petitioner dated 11.03.2016 would be considered on merits and an order to that effect would be passed thereon, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
6. Considering the said submissions made by both sides and also the limited scope of the prayer sought for herein, this Court is inclined to pass the following orders:
"That the respondent is directed to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 11.03.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
