Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, calling for the entire records, connected with the detention order of the Respondent No.2 in Cr.M.P.No.16/2017 (BOOTLEGGER), dated 09.05.2017 and quash the same and direct the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenu by name Shanmugavel, son of Subbiah, aged about 36 years, now detained at Madurai Central Prison before this Court and set him at liberty forthwith.

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention, dated 09.05.2017 in Cr.M.P.No.16/2017, detaining the petitioner as "BOOTLEGGER", as contemplated under Section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Deputy Secretary to Government, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XIV) Department vide G.O.Rt.No.2930, dated 20.06.2017, and he has also produced a copy of the said Government Order.
3. In view of the same, nothing survives in this Habeas Corpus Petition and therefore this Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
