Mrs.V.Pasupathy executed settlement deed dated 21.03.2019 (Document No.2135/2019) in favour of the petitioner herein. At the instance of the settlor, the document was cancelled. Challenging the same, the petitioner herein filed W.P.(MD)No.15020 of 2022. Since the settlement deed did not contain any stipulation regarding maintenance, I quashed the District Collector's order by applying the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court reported in 2022 Live Law (SC) 1011 (Sudesh Chhikara Vs. Ramti Devi).
2.The petitioner has now filed this contempt petition arraying the registering authority as the contemnor. I fail to understand as to how this contempt petition would even lie. I had not given any direction against the registering authority. Only if there is breach of the direction given by this Court, a contempt petition can be filed. When there is no direction against the respondent herein in the order dated 23.12.2022 2/4
made in W.P.(MD)No.15020 of 2022, this contempt petition could not even be filed. The contempt petition stands closed. 29.10.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No ias To:- Pandiyarajan, The Sub Registrar, Office of the Sub Registrar, Thirumangalam, Madurai.
