ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to issue non-traceability certificate for the loss of the petitioner's passport No.H5612295, dated 14.8.2009 File No.TRY A 03430609.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner only contended that for the loss of the petitioner's passport, he has given a complaint on 07.11.2013, but till date, the respondents have not given 'not traceability certificate'. Only after getting that certificate, the petitioner can get a duplicate copy of the passport. For want of 'not traceability certificate' the petitioner also given representations dated 14.07.2014 and 17.12.2014 to the respondents and the same are pending. Therefore, the petitioner seeks for the relief stated therein.

3. The learned counsel for the respondent on instructions would contend that there are lot of duplicate passports in the circulations of that area. In fact, some of them, under the guise of loss of passport, are trying to get certificates and therefore, they have to investigate the matter in detail and only after proper enquiry and complete investigation, the said certificate would be granted and therefore, they need time for such investigation.

4. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondents will investigate the matter in detail and the petitioner will co-operate with the authorities concerned regarding the loss of passport and after making sufficient enquiry and investigation, the authority will pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
