PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 4 to take action under the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 against the respondents 5 to 7 nd ensuring the petitioners to live peacefully in their ome situated at D.No.278, Poombukar Road, Mela Velllar Street, Thirukodikaval, Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk, Thanjavur District. The petitioners herein are spouses and had given a representation to the second respondent / Revenue Divisional Officer, Kumbakonam, under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 as against the 5 to 7 respondents.
2. It is stated that the fifth respondent did not disclose the fact of the earlier marriage and married the son of the petitioners. Thereafter the 2/4
son of the petitioner died in a road accident. The fifth respondent had taken advantage of that particular fact and had evicted the petitioners from their house and taken away the jewels, cash and articles. In all these aspects, the petitioners have given a complaint under the provisions of the aforementioned Act to the second respondent.
3. A direction is given to the second respondent to enquire into the complaint dated 31.01.2023 and to issue notice to the petitioners and also to the fifth, sixth and seventh respondents herein and thereafter proceed in the manner known to law and endeavour to dispose of the petition at the earliest without any delay at any rate on or before, 31.07.2023.
