O R D E R

The petitioner challenges the order dated 13.03.2026 passed by the second respondent, by which the petitioner's application for grant of temporary electricity service connection was rejected on the ground of pendency of court cases.

2. The petitioner had submitted an application seeking temporary electricity service connection for construction purposes. The said application came to be rejected by the second respondent through the impugned order.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent is unable to substantiate the existence of any pending court proceedings relating to the subject property, in which the petitioner is seeking 2/5

temporary electricity service connection, nor is there any order of restraint operating against the petitioner from obtaining such connection. In such circumstances, the rejection of the petitioner's application is arbitrary and unsustainable.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is allowed and the impugned order dated 13.03.2026 passed by the second respondent is set aside. The second respondent is directed to provide temporary electricity service connection to the petitioner for the subject property, subject to the petitioner satisfying all other eligibility requirements.

5. The above exercise shall be completed within a period of four

(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
