O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to give necessary police protection to the life and limb of petitioner, petitioner's husband and her husband's family members on the basis of her representation dated 28.03.2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the State.

3. It is seen that this petitioner is a Hindu who has got married to one Mohamed Kani, who is a Muslim, which has been opposed by the petitioner's father.

4. The Honourable Supreme Court in the case of Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P. & Another reported in (2006)5 SCC 475 has directed the respondent police to offer sufficient police protection and should encourage the inter religion marriage. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5. In view of the above, this Court directs the petitioner and her husband to approach the Superintendent of Police, Pudukkottai District and submit a representation for police protection and on such representation being given, the same shall be enquired into and sufficient police protection be afforded to the petitioner and her husband in terms of the law laid down in Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P. & Another reported in (2006)5 SCC 475.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
