This writ petition has been filed seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents to complete the disciplinary proceedings that were initiated against the petitioner by issuing Memorandum dated 06.12.2024 within a time frame.

2.Mr.R.J.Karthick, learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondents.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 4.With the consent of both sides, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

5.A perusal of the material and record discloses that the charge memo dated 06.12.2024 came to be issued in respect of the allegations pertaining to the year 2021 and the enquiry into the said charges is pending

even after expiry of more than a year. According to the petitioner, despite his full cooperation, the respondents have failed to conclude the enquiry proceedings, thereby causing mental agony to him and depriving him of consideration for promotion.

6.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents also fairly submitted that the respondents would take expedite steps for conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings by avoiding unnecessary delay. 7.In the light of the above, this Court does not see any reason to dwell into the merits of the matter, and accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to conclude the disciplinary enquiry that was initiated pursuant to the memorandum dated 06.12.2024 against the petitioner as espeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of five(5) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
