Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct cultural programme on 18.05.2022 to be conducted in Pillapalayam, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District between 06.00 pm., to 11.00 pm., by considering the representation dated 26.04.2022.

O R D E R

The prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct cultural programme to be conducted on 18.05.2022 in Pillapalayam, Musiri Taluk, Trichy District between 06.00 pm., to 11.00 pm., by considering the representation dated 26.04.2022.

2. It is seen that the petitioner has given a representation on 26.04.2022 to the respondents in person seeking permission for conducting the said cultural programme.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that there are three groups claiming the rights over the said temple.

4. In view of the above, the second respondent police is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated

26.04.2022, after issuing notice to the petitioner and counter parties if any and pass order on or before 18.05.2022. It is made clear that while considering the representation of the petitioner, the second respondent is directed to look out the resolution passed in the peace committee meeting.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
