When the matter was taken up for final hearing it is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel for the department that the proceedings impugned in these writ petitions have since been dropped on 14.06.2018. Therefore, in view of the dropping of the proceedings by the respondent authority themselves, nothing survives for adjudication in these writ petitions.

2.Accordingly, these writ petitions are closed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.

3.If any other competent authority initiates action afresh in accordance with law against the writ petitioners, the writ petitioners are at liberty to once again approach this Court for relief.
