Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to conduct a detailed enquiry into the complaint given by the petitioner dated 18.07.2020 against the third respondent by following the provisions of Section 205(1)(a) of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act 1994 and to remove the third respondent from the post of President of Vembattur Panchayat, Sivagangai District of the Tamil Nadu Village Panchayat Act within the time stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner has made some serious allegations against the third respondent herein in his representation dated 18.07.2020. He wants the first respondent to enquire into the same.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent submitted that the enquiry was conducted and the report was also given to the Assistant Director(Panchayats).

4. The Assistant Director(Panchayats) is directed to forward the same to the first respondent. The first respondent will look into the allegations made by the petitioner herein and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. I make it clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the matter. No costs.
