Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
2. The petitioner's land and buildings were acquired for Madurai Airport Expansion. The authorities paid compensation for the land. However, for the building portion, compensation was not paid. The competent authority passed an award on 29.11.2021 directing that a sum of Rs.3,97,879/- has to be paid as compensation for the buildings to the writ petitioner. Even though eight months have elapsed, till date, the award amount has not been paid. That led to the filing of the writ petition.
3. No exception can be taken to the writ prayer. The respondents are directed to pay the award amount together with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.8879 of 2022 interest to the writ petitioner within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
