O R D E R

The petitioner, who is the grandmother of the third respondent, is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 20.04.2022 filed under Section 16 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that, though the appeal was filed on 20.04.2022, no steps have been taken by the first respondent to dispose of the same.

3. Ms. P.B. Ahamed Yasmin Parvin, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, submitted that the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 20.04.2022 will be considered and disposed of on merits within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is recorded. 2/4

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 20.04.2022 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

5. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. No costs.
