ORDER

Seeking to direct the 2nd respondent respondent to issue Non Traceable Certificate to the petitioner with respect to the lost Sale Deed vide Document No.9302/2010 dated 21.09.2010 on the file of the Sub Registrar Office, Thirumangalam, Madurai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.03.2026, this writ petition is filed.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. It is needless to point out that whenever a representation of this nature is made to a Statutory Authority, there is a duty cast upon the respondent to consider the same on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in one way or other instead of keeping the same pending indefinitely. As such, nonconsideration of the representation made by the Statutory Authority would amount to dereliction of duty and hence, this Court will be justified in invoking the extraordinary powers under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

4. Without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the 2nd respondent police and provide all necessary 2/4

documents facilitating consideration of his representation, dated 05.03.2026. On receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 05.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
