O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 18.01.2024 and representation dated 02.02.2024 and consequently, to mutate the land to a total extent of 90 cents comprised in western side of the Old Survey No.393/1 after rectifying the correlation error in Re-Survey No.162 of Thandikudi Village, Kodaikanal Taluk and to issue individual patta within a specific time frame.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent/Tahsildar in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/ Tahsildar to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 02.02.2024 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry, affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any issues pertaining to land disputes, the parties shall approach the competent civil court. There shall be no order as to costs.
