Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take necessary action to issue free house site pattas to the petitioners for the plots in Survey No. 26/6A1 situated at Kattuputhur Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Trichy District by consider the petitioners' representations, dated 29.09.2023 and 20.01.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioners are all belonging to Schedule Caste Community and being entitled to free House site patta under the Government scheme, they have made 3/6
representations to the respondents right from 29.09.2023 onwards and the latest on 20.01.2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that there are about 67 house sites still unoccupied and unassigned and therefore, the petitioners being eligible for free house site patta, seek suitable orders to be passed in this writ petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader however states that the individual case of the writ petitioners will have to be examined on their own merits before passing any final orders.
5. Considering the above, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the eligibility of each of the writ petitioners on case to case basis and subject to their entitlement, pass orders on the petitioners' representation, dated 20.01.2025 and accordingly take a decision with regard to assignment of free House site patta, on merits and in accordance with law. The 4/6
said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
