ORDER

The present petition has been filed by the accused persons in C.C.No.15 of 2025, on the file of the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Alangudi, seeking to quash of FIR, wherein they are charged with the offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 506(ii) of IPC and r/w Section 4 of the TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

A perusal of the charge sheet reveals that the defacto complainant has lodged a complaint as against the petitioners herein for threatening her for filing cases relating to child marriage and for removal of encroachment in the water body. When the petitioners were present in the police station, they are said to have abused the defacto complainant and attempted to attack her.

3. A perusal of the charge sheet clearly reveals a prima facie case has been made out as against the petitioners and no legal grounds have been raised for quashing of the charge sheet.

4. The trial Court is directed to dispose of the criminal proceedings without being influenced by anyone of the observations made by this Court.

5. The personal appearance of the petitioners shall be dispensed with unless the trial Court specifically directs them to appear.
