Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents and by consent of both the parties, the main Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner seeks for a writ of mandamus, directing the first respondent to renew the gun licence bearing No.127/2/UPT. It is stated that though the licence issued to the petitioner in respect of the above said gun expired on 04.07.2012 and the petitioner has made an application immediately seeking for renewal of the licence, the first respondent has not considered the request of the petitioner. Now, after three years, the petitioner has made the present representation on 21.09.2015 once again, seeking for renewal of the licence.

Whether the petitioner is entitled to get the renewal of the licence or not is a matter for consideration of the authority concerned, namely the first respondent and therefore this Court at this stage, is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner. Therefore, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.09.2015 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With this direction this Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No Costs.
