The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking disbursement of the earned leave and surrender leave salary along with interest.

2. Though the petitioner has retired on 31.05.2022, the earned leave and surrender leave salary have not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 12.02.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/5

The issue involved in the present writ petition was dealt with by this Court in writ petition in W.P(MD)No.3302 of 2025, dated 05.02.2025 and this Court directed the respondents to release the eligible earned leave and surrender leave salary to the petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% from the due date to the date of disbursement.

5. Following the said order, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to release the eligible earned leave and surrender leave salary upon the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
