ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.SUDHAKAR,J) The grievance of the petitioner seems to be that there was a Public Ladies Toilet in ward No.1 in Devarappanpatti village Panchayat, Athoor Taluk, Dindigul District and that was demolished and therefore, a representation has been given to the authorities concerned to put up a New Public Ladies Toilet, and since no action has been taken so far, the present writ petition has been filed in public interest. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. Heard both sides.
3. At the hearing, Mr.B.Pugalendhi, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, submitted that the authorities concerned are inclined to consider the request of the petitioner and prayed for passing suitable orders.
4. Considering the nature of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to verify the nature of the complaint of the petitioner and consider the request of the petitioner for the establishment of a Public Ladies Toilet, in consonance with the National Policy of the Ministry of Health, for providing Public Toilets in Rural and Taluk levels, to address the needs of women. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and the authority concerned is free to deal with the matter on its own merit, as per law.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
